Hey! Where's Pilot Dave?

Well, what an eventful trip. We had such a great time in Florida! The trip down there was amazing, both kids were great! We were all surprised at how much Clayton loved the airplane. All we heard about the whole way down there was "Pilot Dave" Thank goodness for Real Wheels, the movie series. He adapted really well to everyone that he saw. "Hey look who's here" he'd say, "my new cousin". "Where are my big boy cousins?" Then Dale Jr surprised us all and came to visit. It had been nearly a decade since I had seen him and he brought his wife and her kids. Morgan and Shelby were a life-saver. They loved Clayton and he just adored them. Morgan played with Clayton day in and out, saving us all a lot of time and patience. Morgan also had her 8th birthday while we were there. What a treat to be able to share that with her! We daringly took a trip to Disney, 2+ hrs from Starke where the family lives. It was worth every minute of the drive. Not only did Clayton sleep the whole way there, but he was so excited to see Mickey when he woke up. "Where's Mickey's house?" he'd keep asking? We got him on It's a Small World, surprisingly he loved it, eventhough he hates riding on things that move. He was a bit timid but was brave. We found Mickey and he was so excited. Again, surprising Mimi and I. He hugged them both and has since been askign to go back and visit every day. We watched the parade and Clayton waved at every character. His patience was swayed by the Buzz Lightyear toy I picked up to keep him occupied while we waited. We met up with the Dennehy's (my advisee from Pomfret) and we did the Buzz Lightyear ride with Cormac and his sister Sarah. They had so much fun: and Clayton did too. After the ride we found Buzz and I think Clayton was the most excited he's ever been. WOW! Upon our exit we picked up the world famous Mickey ears and he dons that every day now that he's home as well. Our last few days in STarke were great too. We were lazy and homesick but we made the most of it. The ride home took its toll with delays and cancellations but we made it safely and that's what matters. It may be a few years until we make it there again, traveling with two kids isn't easy. But we got to see the family and they got to meet Rowan. We hear we have a new little cousin on the way in about 9 months so our prayers are with them for a healthy pregnancy and delivery. Hugs and kisses to all our family, thanks for putting up with us, and putting us up! We love you and miss you. Check out the gallery for all the photos from the trip!
