The Dentist

Claytons doctor told us he had to go to the dentist the next time one of us went.
The dentist said, next time you come in, bring your kid: he needs to be seen.

We said: "do you know what you're asking us to do?"
Neither one of us wanted to experience it, and if we didn't have photos I'm sure you wouldn't believe us!

Coincidentally, Sesame Street had the old clip of the kid going to the dentist that day. So, he actually watched it on tv first. Maybe that helped: who knows.

We both were there.
Adam had his teeth cleaned first. Then Clayton said: "My turn". He hopped in the chair...

legs crossed, hands slapping the hand rests he said "now count my teeth"

We were shocked: she was able to count them 20 in all! WOW!

And he loved it! All smiles as you can tell! But how much further would she be able to go?

Counting the teeth! Couldn't believe it!

She actually was able to brush his teeth with the electrical toothbrush! And squirted him with water, and sucked it out with the vaccuum (which he thought was like whipped cream) no secrets here. We're Shaws, and we love whipped cream!

Can you believe it? We couldn't!

No tears, screaming, kicking: just pure unadulterated goodness!

Too funny! No worries, you won't have to see Adams exam! Not as cute: but still no cavities at 32! He got a Go Diego Go toothbrush: which he's really into now, and a toy- which he said "I don't need a toy" I just want to go home and get some whipped cream now!

Claytons First Art Show

Clayton has been taking art classes on Tuesdays from 4-5 at the Silver Circle Studio downtown. He has worked on things like drawing lines, painting (his favorite) printing leaves, paper mache', clay work with painting too, and listening to the teacher. The hardest of all.

The final day of the class, the teacher put together the work of all of her classes and all of her students and posted them so professionally on the walls of the studio. Clayton was a bit resistent to go, but with his friends and Mimi in tow, he entered. He was so proud to see the work on the walls of the studio. I'm sure he remembered making them. His daddy even showed up all the way from Hartford. Points on that one Daddy.

While he didnt' really spend much time looking at the art of his peers or even his own, he scampered along with Izzie reaking havock on the peacefulness of the gallery. He did take time out to show everyone that wanted to see his pieces where they were. His favorite was his bug that he made.
These are the t-shirts that the kids made the first class that they wore every other class to keep their clothes clean. So cute!
Claytons bug is in the middle. He made it with mommy but painted it with daddy, mommy had to go to the prom that day! The course was really great and we both loved it, most of the time. Ms Lisa earned her wings in heaven dealing with Clayton. It was fun!

The Movies

We went on Sunday to see UP the new Disney Movie.
The first and last time we went to the movies: to see Wall-e Clayton lasted 20 minutes with Daddy. It didn't go over well. This time we thought the movie would be more up his alley. He lasted the entire time. Sure, he roamed the hallway up and down and even escaped to the very front where I had to chase him down in front of the entire theater: to the chuckles of some of the parents in the theater, but he did well. We started at Millbury to see the 3-D version, glasses and all as you can see in the photos. But the movie projector broke and so we had to scamper across town to the Worcester showcase Cinemas North- throwback to highschool, where we watched it in 2D. Probably a better solution anyways. He loved it and while he didn't really laugh much- he's such a serious movie watcher until he's memorized every line (after 3 viewings usually) Adam and I did along with cry a little. A good movie and I highly recommend it!

Clayton has finally enjoyed being around his sister and having his photo taken with her.

Whooo hooo, almost a month

It's been almost a month since the last b log. Can you say "long month"?  This teaching, running a business and raising two children thing is not EASY!  Not that anyone said it would be, but you all know me.  I think I can do it all.  It will be a great relief to have a lot less responsibility in a week from tuesday!  WHOO HOO!  

So Rowan had her baptism on Sunday of last week.  It was memorial day sunday.  A great day, the rain held off and we had a lovely picnic thanks to my moms beautiful back yard.  My sister, mom and I did the food: dad cooked the burgers.  We had lots of left overs from Peytons party on SAturday.  Another beautiful day!  It was obvious who had been at that party because everyone who was there had a sunburn.  

Since then the whole family has been sick.  Adam threw up 13 times Sunday evening.  Clayton started retching at 2 on Tuesday, I started at 830 and Rowan had diarrhea all day wed and thurs.  Lovely right?  So our long week was even longer by our illnesses.  

Thank goodness Mike and Donna were here to help out. My mom, sister, Taylor and Caron were sick too so something was going around, but we all got it at different times, so it wasn't the food.  THANK GOD!

The new book is out!

Well I finally finished version three of the Lehmann family book. 

 I tried to get it to cover all of the last year: through April as it usually does, but I couldn't fit all the photos in.  So it goes from May 08 through February 09.  

The next book: version 4 will include March 09 through December 09.  

Then we will start fresh with a January through December version for the following year.  I know, crazy, I get it.. too much on my plate. But it's done and cheaper than printing out all those photos.  

Blurb is great! 

 I love it. 

 And besides who knows how long I can keep up the scrapbooking too. 

It's all becoming way too much!

Still loving the Mickey Mouse: although still not quite as much as the Buzz Lightyear pheonemon. I just love these two photos.  He such a cutie in them.
